Issue #3: Hi, I'm Bethany!
I am so happy to be a part of girl, a word. Having a platform to connect with women from all walks of life enlivens me and after the last 18 months of navigating the new world as we know it— it’s just what I’ve needed. And, to share this platform with my good friend, Sydney, makes this even more invigorating. As a writer, I consider myself very observant. I enjoy listening to the stories and experiences of other women to get a better view of the world around me. Because let’s be honest, as women, we are the tastemakers and we control what the entire world deems as cool and important, no matter how some others may try to deny. Everything revolves around us, Baby.
So allow me to introduce myself! I’m Bethany Anderson, a writer, producer, and a mother to a brilliant 7-year-old son. I’m a southern gal from North Carolina, but I’ve lived in Las Vegas for 11 years. I love music, dancing, traveling, and relaxing. And as I write this, I am reminded of how I am not a fan of talking about myself, but it is something I’m actively working on. Once I became a mother, I found myself lost in a world full of exclusively breastfeeding, baby-wearing, and simply learning to get to know myself all over again.
In 2019 I birthed another baby: my swimwear line Bikini Honey where I am the owner, creative director, and photographer. Turning the things I love into a stream of income was a goal of mine. It’s not easy but I personally enjoy the learning process of starting a business from scratch.
That’s all about me for now but know this—there will be many deep dives and entertaining discussions happening here at girl, a word because I feel that the more we have honest conversations with one another, the better we grow into well-rounded women that can unite for the greater good. Sounds like I’m running for city council, right? 😂
